Cellulosic Ethanol Scrubber for Ethanol Recovery

A cellulosic ethanol fermentation process produces off gases that contain carbon dioxide (CO2), ethanol (C2H5OH) and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs). To maximize plant efficiency, it is important to recover the lost ethanol and other VOCs.  Envitech has designed a new, patent-pending cellulosic ethanol scrubber that removes both the ethanol and the other volatile organic compounds.

Cellulosic Ethanol Scrubber

Envitech has already built ethanol scrubbers with ethanol recoveries greater than 99%.  The new patented process improves the removal efficiency of the minor volatile organic compounds that can prevent a plant from meeting air discharge requirements.  Envitech can now guarantee greater than 99% removal of total VOC (including ethanol) from its cellulosic ethanol scrubber.
